Lifestyle Statement

Beliefs are not worth much unless they are translated into actions.  Based on what the Bible teaches, we feel very strongly about the following ten practices:

Praying

“Come and listen, all you who fear God; let me tell you what He has done for me.  I cried out to Him with my mouth; His praise was on my tongue.  If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer.  Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me!”  Psalm 66:16-20

We pray to God to know Him, to lay our requests before Him and to find direction for our daily lives.

Worshiping

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our Salvation.  Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.  For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.  In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.  The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land.  Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for He is our god and we are the people of His pasture, the flock under his care.”
Psalm95:1-7

We worship God for who He is and what He has done for us.

Giving

“A tithe of everything you produce belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.”
Leviticus 26:30

“But just as you excel in everything…see that you also excel in this grace of giving.”
2 Corinthians 8:7

We give by supporting the church with a minimum 10% of our income.

Discipling

Jesus came and told His disciples, “I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth.  Therefore, for go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands that I have given you.”  Matthew 28:18-20

We follow Christ and encourage others to follow Him as well.

Studying

“All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us to do what is right.”
2 Timothy 3:16, 17

We practice daily Bible reading, Bible study, and Bible memorization.  The Bible is the basis for all we believe.

Connecting

“All the believers were together and had everything in common.  Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.  Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.  They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.  And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”
Act 2:44-47

We share life with other Christians to accomplish God’s purpose in our lives, others’ lives, and in the world.

Ministering

“Christ loved us, and by His death he has freed us from our sins and made us a kingdom of priests to serve God…” Revelation 1:6  “You are…the King’s priests…God’s own people, chose to proclaim the wonderful acts of God.” 1 Peter 2:9

We practice the truth that every believer is a minister by encouraging every member to find a place of service and ministry.

Kingdom Living

“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”  Romans 14:17

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33

“During the forty days after His crucifixion, he appeared to the apostles from the time to time and proved to them in many ways he was actually alive.  On these occasions he talked to them about the Kingdom of God.”  Acts 1:3

We live in the Kingdom of God where His rule and reign prevail.

Witnessing

“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” 1 Peter 3:15

We practice personal and corporate witnessing about Christ through our actions and words.

Empowering

“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.  We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.”  Romans 12:4,5

We strive to know and to use our spiritual gifts to accomplish God’s purpose on earth.
